Biological function and pharmacological potential of GFL neurotrophic factors
Eugene Johnson has been on the Washington University School of Medicine faculty since 1976; he currently serves part time. His laboratory worked on the mechanisms of neuronal death and the biology and pharmacology of neurotrophic factors. He also has maintained an interest in neurodegenerative diseases. As such he is an Associate Director of the Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and a member of the Hope Center Steering Committee, among other activities. He also serves as an advisor to various foundations and the National Institutes of Health.
