18th Annual Evening of Hope

Hope Happens, collaborative partner of the Hope Center, is hosting the 18th Annual Evening of Hope Gala on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Hall at Olive+Oak in Webster Groves. The Spirit of Hope Award will honor Bill Hizar, outstanding community leader and board member of Hope Happens.

Join us for cocktails, dinner and a live auction with emcee/auctioneer, Paul Cook of KSDK/Today in St. Louis.

2023 Evening of Hope

Hope Happens, collaborative partner of the Hope Center, hosted the 17th Annual Evening of Hope Gala on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Hall at Olive+Oak in Webster Groves. They honored the work of Hope Center faculty members, Aaron DiAntonio and Jeffrey Milbrandt.

Over 200 guests attended this Kentucky Derby themed gala where they enjoyed dinner from the kitchens at Olive + Oak and danced to the music of the Charles Glenn Group .

2022 Evening of Hope

The 16th Annual Evening of Hope Gala was held on April 23, 2022 at the Sheldon Concert Hall. Dr. Randall Bateman, Charles F. and Joanne Knight Distinguished Professor of Neurology, accepted the Spirit of Hope Award.

The Live Auction with gala Emcee, Jackie Smith, was a fun addition and jazz artist, Anita Jackson, brought the house down!

2019 Evening of Hope

The 15th Annual Evening of Hope was held on April 25, 2019 at the Sheldon Concert Hall. Dr. David Perlmutter, Executive Vice Chancellor for Medical Affairs and Inaugural George and Carol Bauer Dean of the School of Medicine, accepted the Spirit of Hope Award.

The 442’s featuring vocalist Erin Bode, performed smooth, passionate and whimsical music while smiles and applause filled the theater.

2018 Evening of Hope

The 14th Annual Evening of Hope was held on May 5 at the Sheldon Concert Hall.  Dr. Timothy Miller, the David Clayson Professor of Neurology and Director of the Christopher Wells Hobler Lab for ALS Research, accepted the Spirit of Hope Award in honor of his past and continuous contributions to ALS research.

Jeremy Davenport, a St. Louis native and vital part of the New Orleans music scene, performed vibrant and playful music while smiles and applause filled the theater.

2017 Evening of Hope

The 13th Annual Evening of Hope was held on April 27 at the Sheldon Concert Hall.  Dr. Larry Shapiro, MD, Executive Vice Chancellor and Dean Emeritus, accepted the Spirit of Hope Award in honor of his past and continuous support.

Brian Owens and the Deacons of Soul performed: Alvin Quinn on bass, Shaun Robinson on guitar and Rob Woodie, drums.  The performance was inspiring and soul-filled, smiles and applause filled the theater.

2015 Evening of Hope

The 11th Annual Evening of Hope was held on April 30 at the Sheldon Concert Hall.

The Peter Martin Trio performed, with special guest Brian Owens.  The concert was wonderful and enjoyed by our guests.

2014 Evening of Hope

The 10th Annual Evening of Hope was held on May 8 at the Sheldon Concert Hall.  Dr. William A. Peck, MD, former Dean of the Washington University  School of Medicine accepted the Spirit of Hope Award in honor of his past and continuous support.  Dr. Peck was instrumental in forming the partnership of Hope Happens and Washington University to create Hope Center for Neurological Disorders. The Marcus Roberts Trio performed, featuring bassist Rodney Jordan, drummer Jason Marsalis, and led by pianist Marcus Roberts. The performance was outstanding, and very well received by our guests.
